I have to admit I do not have the talent he has at expressing himself in words. However, I love to share pictures. When we bought our home it required very little as far as "work" to be done to make functional but, it did need some work to make it ours. As most of you know, one of my passions is fiddling around the house and making it both inviting to others and comfortable for us. Here is what I have accomplished so far...<br /><br /><div><div>I painted the entire living area a light taupe. We are working to replace all of the appliances with the stainless steel (look). We decided to keep the original refrigerator, which was over sized, and put it in Brian's shop. Please note, the incredible tiled counter tops. Both Brian and Bear took a day and placed tile on both the kitchen and the bathroom counter tops and it looks awesome. I think it is very calming and inviting. I completely stripped the furniture back to the bare wood, reupholstered my vanity bench and painted the walls. The print on the wall is my splurge for this room or should I say the frame for the print was the splurge. Mom helped me find the quilt and I chose the colors around it. In addition to redoing the rooms, Brian and I hung the Plantation blinds in each of the bedrooms. The prior homeowner did install Plantation blinds in the rest of the home however, they had hideous vertical blinds that were falling apart and filthy in the bedrooms. In addition, I replaced all of the dated light fixtures in the bedrooms and hallway. While I was at it, I replaced both the front and back house lights. I told him if he picked the color I would paint it for him. Little did I know he would go for red. If you have ever painted a room red, you will feel my pain. This room ate up 3 coats of paint before I ran out and still could use more coats to even it out. After my all day slaving away painting this office, my wonderful husband comes in and says "I don't think I like this, it looks pink to me". You know when you get to a place of not knowing if you want to cry or hit something?
